My name is Paul Thompson and I am currently teaching the IGSCE Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and Accounting units at the school.

My home city is Liverpool which is in the North West of England. I'm married with four grown up children and five grandchildren. Prior to becoming a teacher I spent 20 years working in industry before undertaking, as a mature student, a Business and Finance Degree at Liverpool John Moores University. After graduating in 1989 I studied for a further year at the Bolton Institute of Higher Education to gain a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE).

I started teaching in 1990 and have taught a wide variety of business related courses from IGCSE level up to and including first year degree level. I have taught courses both in the United Kingdom and overseas (Muscat in the Sultanate of Oman and Guangzhou in PR China). In total I have spent 10 years teaching overseas students and therefore, I am fully aware of the difficulties that students experience when trying to learn in a second, or other, language.
