从小父母老师就教育我们一定要多读书，《观书》中更盛赞书之好处，“书卷多情似故人，晨昏忧乐每相亲。眼前直下三千字，胸次全无一点尘。”

如果在雅思口语考试中抽到如下话题，你该怎么说才能“拿下”考官呢？

You should say：

When you read it

What kind of book it is

What it is about

And explain why it is exciting

Ø  大题目中两个关键词：book / exciting. 时态为现在完成时。小问题中有过去时态。在完整表达中会运用到过去时，一般现在时和现在完成时这三种口语常用表达时态。

Ø  学生一般会忘记使用过去时或控制不了不同时态之间的转变，从而造成简单句上语法错误较多。并且，在现在完成时的过去分词上最容易出现发音错误或模糊的情况。对应评分标准来看，学生会在语法准确性和发音准确性上失分。

Ø  题目中书的修饰词是exciting令人兴奋的, 该形容词属于口语表达的基本词汇。在答题过程中很有可能会被高频率地使用，因此为了避免词汇上的单一重复，需要paraphrase 这个形容词，在学习和备考过程中刻意积累2个左右的近义词或短语搭配，并且能准确灵活运用。这点是对应评分标准中对词汇量的要求。

Ø  关于这题的答题素材选择方面，建议学生们不要过于纠结和避免完美主义倾向。卡片题的核心任务是用清晰的思路和高效的表达将话题内容说清楚了，而不是选择的素材内容本身有多么精彩和吸引人。我们在选择素材内容时要做一个平衡，就是你的语言能力和你想要描述或叙述的内容之间是不是能匹配。

Ø  素材选择要灵活。现在有很多电视剧或电影都是根据书改编的，所以大家选择的范围是比较广泛的，同名电影可以关注一下。

Ø  卡片题要完成2分钟时间的要求，就一定要注意答题的结构和节奏。遇到书、电视剧这类话题，学生们在表达过程中特别容易掉入描述书的情节故事或细节之中，从而将主要时间全部花在讲故事上，而没有时间或没有意识到需要谈论自己的主观感受或个人体验、收获。这样答题肯定是不完整的，而且表达过程中会错误百出，对应评分标准的要求，可能会在连贯性和语法上失分最多。

跟大家分享一下我对这道题目的理解和准备的答题思路，一言以蔽之，就是storytelling的总体框架，分为三步：

1.  交代书的背景信息，进行铺陈。

这也是在呼应小题目中的问题：what it is / what kind of book it is. 可能会需要交代的基本信息有：书的名字、类型、人物，发生的时代背景等等。需要的一些基本词汇和句式为：

√  It is called ______, written by _____ who is ________.

√  The book is suspense novel / mystery novel which I find it _____ and _____.

√  I was recommended to read this book by ______.

√  I was inspired to read this book while watching the movie.

2.  描述总特点、主要情节和个人感受：

这部分我觉得值得展开来慢慢讲、慢慢聊，积累的词汇和表达要能够把意思表达清楚。不要只说故事情节，记得谈论一下当时读书时候的感受和体验是什么，穿插起来这部分内容才能丰富起来，听起来是更加自然地在和考官谈论自己的读书感受。可能会用到的一些句式结构有：

√  The book is about ________.

√  The book tells the story of ______ and _____ doing sth.

√  The story of the book is fast-paced.

√  I was truly impressed by _______.

√  What impressed me most is _________.

3.  答题收尾，精准地提炼这本书带给你的个人感受或收获。

I’m going to talk about one of my favorite suspense novels. It is called Sherlock Holmes, written by Conan Doyle who was one the most popular and well-known British novelists. In fact, this book consists of four series and over 50 short stories that featured Holmes.

The first time I read this book was about five years ago. One of best friends recommended this book to me. I remember that once I started reading, Iwas completely attracted by its gripping stories. Actually, this book tells the story of Holmes and Dr. Watson cooperating with British police officers to investigate criminal cases. I honestly think that the writer has created the most iconic detective. In this book, I was truly impressed by Holmes’s keen observational and analyzing skills which he applied to find out the truth of tough cases.

I found this book really fascinating and exhilarating. Every time I read it, it always gives me constant excitement from the fast-paced stories. In addition, reading this book gives me a good opportunity to know about British customs and the social background of that time.
